One of the available specialty credentials I sought early on in my real estate career was that of Seniors Real Estate Specialist because I enjoy spending time with older adults and because I know that big moves, like buying or selling a home, can be especially difficult for them. Selling a family home can be particularly complicated if the owners have been in the home for many years and family members that might be called on for assistance are out of the area.
Credentials aside, two other important things to know is that I am very tech-savvy, with available tools like electronic signing, that allow me to conduct business with clients and family members both locally and remotely. And, more importantly, I exhibit the patience and willingness to slow down, thoroughly enjoying a cup of coffee with our elders or conducting a relaxing phone conversation to help ease them through a difficult real estate transaction. I think hearing their stories is a gift that often provides important life lessons.
